P1 Group Hosts KC Bluebeam Users Group

LENEXA, Kan. – P1 Group hosted the Kansas City Bluebeam Users Group (KC BUG) on July 27, to showcase the innovative ways P1 Group is using Bluebeam software.

Bluebeam is a PDF solution that includes mark-up tools and a platform to manage and share document updates.

The construction industry is transitioning to paperless and finding ways to provide electronic project information and updates to field associates. As a multi-trade contractor, P1 Group needed a solution that would work when multiple foremen and project managers are creating and updating project documents.

Bluebeam is ideal  – it simplifies the process of filling out field documentation and can be accessed by field associates on mobile devices.

P1 Group was also able to integrate its SharePoint project management system with Bluebeam Studio Projects, which allows information to be synced every 24 hours. Foremen can access information on iPads while project managers and other office associates use a web-based project management system

Sarah Garcia, Corporate Trainer, Vanessa Taylor, IT Special Projects, Nathan Pendergraft, P1 Intern, and Laura Adkins, Senior Project Coordinator, presented to KC BUG. They discussed the integration of SharePoint and Bluebeam and demonstrated how the system is used by field associates.

Kellie Ward, Community Development Manager for Bluebeam, Inc., said she asked P1 Group to showcase this work for KC BUG because it is a great example of an innovative solution for managing and integrating documents.

“The creation of an automated process to provide field staff with updated drawings through projects while directly linking to the company’s SharePoint system is a tremendous workflow,” she said. “This, combined with the effort to keep the SharePoint system up-to-date and navigable as a very sophisticated hub for internal communication and access is truly innovative.”
