K-State Student Earns Fall 2020 P1 Group Construction Science Scholarship
Each year P1 gives the award to a promising student in the Kansas State University Construction Science program, fulfilling our commitment to help fill the pipeline of talented construction and trade workers.
Congratulations to Kansas State University Senior Tyler Collins, winner of P1 Group’s Fall 2020 Construction Science Scholarship.
.A Wichita native, Tyler grew up working for a residential contractor and engineering firm, which sparked his interest in construction science at an early age.
"I chose my area of study when I was a Junior in high school," Tyler said. "I knew I wanted a job where I wouldn't be cooped up in a cubicle all the time. I wanted a career where I could also be out in the field. I hope to get out in the field to do some hands-on work even if my position is office-based."
During his time at K-State, he has been involved with many student organizations, including Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) and Associated Schools of Construction (ASC).
“Thank you for supporting me and other students like me at K-State,” Tyler said. “Heading into my final year in the program I firmly believe it was the right choice for me.”
Tyler plans to seek work in the Wichita, KS, area after graduation this spring.
