CertainTeed K11 MBI Packaging Line Automation

Prior to this project, the roll sealer P1 fabricated did not exist. There were machines that did some of the work, but none in one unit.

P1 Group provided turnkey solution to design, fabricate, and install for two Metal Building Insulation Roll Sealers. Sealers were required to pillow seal both ends of a roll of insulation at a rate of (3) rolls per minute. Rolls range in size from 72”, 60” and 48” in length and 24”-26” in diameter and weigh approximately 100-125 pounds.

The project eliminated of the ergonomic issue of handling such heavy material and greatly reduced the fork truck traffic in close proximity to workers.
