P1 Group’s document management system has been featured in “The Bluebeam Guidebook: Game-Changing Tips and Stories for Architects, Engineers, and Contractors.”

Black & Veatch engineers Rachel Atteberry and Jason Hascall wrote the guidebook and included a five-page case study on P1 Group’s work with Bluebeam Studio Enterprise. P1 Group's Vanessa Taylor, IT Special Projects, and Sarah Garcia, Corporate Trainer, connected with Rachel and Jason though the Kansas City Bluebeam Users Group.

IMG 4594Bluebeam Studio is a PDF solution that is used by construction, architecture and engineering firms to mark up and edit electronic documents.

Vanessa and Sarah have led P1 Group’s efforts to develop a custom workflow that connects P1’s project management software, SharePoint, with hundreds of Bluebeam Studio projects.

Project plans, RFIs, specifications, submittals and other data are available to field employees via tablets. In turn, they can edit documents on jobsites that sync back to the project file. The information is updated every 24 hours when SharePoint and Bluebeam synchronize.

“Through training, scripting, smarts, and creativity, they assisted in creating an automated process that is second to none,” the authors wrote. “It makes P1 faster, it makes P1 better, and it makes P1 stand out in a crowd.”

This is not the first time P1 Group’s work with Bluebeam has received recognition. In August, P1 Group won a Bluebeam eXtreme Award (bXa) for Advanced Use of Bluebeam Revu. The eXtreme awards recognize companies that have developed a complex process or customized tool in Revu.
