KANSAS CITY, Mo. – P1 Group hosted a Partners in Play event at Children’s Mercy Hospital on November 16.

The Children’s Mercy downtown location offers Partners in Play for their inpatient children on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The Child Life staff at CMH invites businesses, community groups and organizations to take turns providing a special activity for the children.

Children’s Mercy has approximately 200 children hospitalized daily. The Partners in Play events give some of them a chance to take a break from their rooms, socialize and be creative.

P1 Group hosted Priscilla Howe, a storyteller, to entertain the patients. She used music, puppets and stories to interact with her audience. Afterward, the P1 employee volunteers led the children in some fall craft activities.

The P1 volunteers enjoyed their time with the children, and the Child Life staff members were appreciative.

“The children and families all really enjoyed it and we enjoyed having you here, and would love for you to come back,” said Shelby Eggen, Child Life Intern.
