P1 Group is committed to helping fill the pipeline of talented construction and trade workers, which is why we developed the Construction Science Scholarship, awarded yearly to a promising student in the Kansas State University Construction Science program.

This year, Miguel Chacon Andrade was the lucky recipient.

“I chose Construction Science and Management because growing up I always enjoyed working with my dad around the house and building,” Miguel said. “My favorite experience has been my volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity through AGC (Associated General Contractors student chapter).”

P1 Group President Kollin Knox emphasizes how important these scholarships are for our industry.

“We want to give back in a way that benefits students interested in career in the mechanical and electrical contracting industry," he said. “Students graduating with a degree from the Construction Science & Management program possess a strong foundation and understanding of our trade."

“These graduates are able to enter the workforce and make an immediate and positive impact on the organization and the industry. We hope they might also choose to come to P1 Group and make an impact here as well," Kollin said.

“I am honored to receive this scholarship, grateful for the support, and hope to someday give back to students in positions similar to mine,” Miguel added.

Congratulations to Miguel and best of luck on your professional career path!
