Providing support for local charities, community activities, and events is an integral part of the P1 business plan. We take great pride in investing in our communities and the lives of our associates. To this end, P1 offers two sponsorships to P1 associates in the Spring and Fall. All associates may apply for the sponsorships, which are intended to assist in the financial support of those organizations and activities that are important to our associates and the communities in which they live and work.

COVID may have put a damper on last year’s activities, but we had a great turnout for Spring 2021 Corporate Sponsorship applicants!

Join us in congratulating Sheet Metal Foreman Steve Turner and Sheet Metal Fabrication Shop Manager Tom Keating, winners of our Spring Corporate Sponsorships.

Tom’s award will benefit 13U Topeka Royals Baseball, a 13-and-under competitive baseball team. The team participates in leagues and tournaments in Kansas and Missouri, and plays in a Topeka, KS, league.

Tom has been with the team for three years.

“Coaching kids in all sports is what I enjoy. There is no better feeling than watching them not only become good athletes, but also good human beings,” Tom said. “Hopefully I am helping develop those attributes.”

The sponsorship money will help with league dues, tournament entry fees, and equipment.

Steve Turner has been head coach for PSA Gold 12U (12-and-up) softball for two years. The team is located in McClouth, KS.

Steve and the owner of PSA Fastpitch Softball started a 10u team two years ago.

“I took the team on as head coach this past fall,” Steve said. “My daughter is one of the players. We have girls from McClouth, Oskaloosa, Basehor, Tonganoxie, and Smithville, KS. Now we play 12U softball.”

Steve says he finds it very rewarding coaching the 11 young athletes on the team, who, thanks to this sponsorship money, will soon have new uniforms.

Congratulations to Tom and Steve, and the organizations benefiting from this program!
