Kindred Bio Expansion Showcases Capabilities

P1 Group’s Kindred Biosciences Production Expansion project was born from customer relationship building and a solid example of P1 teamwork across many trades and services.

KindredBio, a pet biopharmaceutical company based in San Francisco, took over an older pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Elmwood, KS, and will soon manufacture drugs there for companion animals like cats, dogs and horses.

Beyond Monopoly: Julie M. Plays Board Games Like a Pro

P1 Accounting Clerk Julie Metzler has been demonstrating games for Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) at two large board game conventions each year for 18 years.

Building Better Lives: Las Vegas Office Donates Resources to Veteran’s Cause

Building Homes for Heroes is a national organization that recognizes those who serve in the United States Armed Forces by supporting the needs of severely wounded or disabled soldiers and their families. The organization strives to build or renovate quality homes and donate them, mortgage-free, to injured veterans nationwide.    

Recently, the P1 Group Las Vegas office was invited to donate goods and services to help with the building of a home for Army Staff Sergeant Jared Stacey.

P1 Group Exceeds National Averages through Staunch Commitment to Safety

Making sure conditions are safe for the 900+ people working at P1 Group jobsites on any given day is a huge task, but in a company where safety is the highest priority, no one takes shortcuts.    

Like any organization of this type, P1 Group is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to keep records of the number of recordable incidents, which include the number of injuries on the job and the number of lost or restricted workdays from injuries.

His responsibilities include taking care of everything coming and going from the warehouse, including managing all aspects of tool requests/check-outs/repairs for construction or service.

To help get everyone in the spirit of P1 Group's upcoming milestone 100-year celebration (1919-2019), we gave associates a chance to get in on the 100th anniversary fun by launching an employee tagline contest.

A total of 90 taglines were submitted, and associates really got into the spirit of our milestone anniversary. The ultimate choice was tough, but the P1 Group executive team made the final decision these are the associates with the winning entries.

P1 Group hit the list at number 122 among all specialty contractors and also placed 37th on the “Top 50 Firms in Mechanical” list.

Project Profile: A3 Parking Garage at Disney Springs

The P1 Group Architectural Metal team does a lot of work in Orlando, Florida, with Disney among their clientele. A3 is the third parking garage at Disney Springs the team has completed within the last five years. 

The $6 million A3 Parking Garage project included 141,505 sq ft of aluminum façade in four elements.

P1 Group’s own Architectural Metal shop is 32,800 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art equipment and top-notch talent. Located in Kansas City, MO, the Arch Metal division specializes in design-build projects with a focus on themed entertainment, commercial construction and parking garage facades.

The Arch Metal team partners with owners and clients all over the world, including Asia and the Middle East. While the shop has only been part of P1 since 2017, the expertise of the staff spans many years and many projects.

10,000 Tickets and Counting: P1 Group Tool Shop Feeds Fab and Field Work

On October 5, 2018, the P1 Group Tool Shop celebrated ticket order #10,000. The tool shop started doing business out of the merged tool department in Lawrence on October 5, 2015.

Whatever anyone in the fab shops or field may need to perform work, from batteries and hand tools to welding machines and Victaulic grooving machines, the tool shop is designed to be the one-stop shop for those needs.

Annual Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Warriors' Ascent

The 16th annual P1 Group Charity Golf Tournament on October 13 raisedThe 16th annual P1 Group Charity Golf Tournament on October 13 raised $14,262 for Warriors’ Ascent, a Kansas City-based organization thatserves veterans and first responders to help them cope with moralinjuries they’ve suffered in the line of duty.

Warriors’ Ascent was founded in 2014 by two Iraq combat veterans,and has since served more than 300 veterans and first responders struggling with post traumatic stress through a five-day program runeight to 10 times per year.
