P1 to self-perform all MEP and millwrights work in equipment relocation project

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – P1 Group, Inc. has been selected as the prime contractor to relocate more than 1,500 pieces of large production/manufacturing equipment from Honeywell’s Kansas City Plant (KCP) complex to the new Botts Road facility in Kansas City, Mo. The project will highlight P1’s single-source capabilities, as P1 Group will self-perform the millwrights, piping, plumbing, electrical and sheet metal work.

P1 Group was awarded this project in August 2011 and expects to complete it by Fall 2014.

The Kansas City Plant is a National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facility managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies L.L.C (FM&T).

This relocation project is part of a larger program known as Kansas City Responsive Infrastructure, Manufacturing and Sourcing, or KCRIMS, that will transform the KCP facility and organization into a more efficient and flexible manufacturing center for future NNSA needs.
