Kansas City Corporate Challenge benefitting Special Olympics

P1 Group jumpstarted its 2011 Kansas City Corporate Challenge campaign yesterday by partaking in the kick-off party and walk held at Truman Sports Complex, next to Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums in Kansas City, Mo.

To bring in the new sporting season, P1 Group catered a Mexican-style BBQ buffet for associates and their guests. Following the early evening dinner, participants embarked on a casual one-mile group walk around the perimeter of the complex. Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed live music, friendly conversation, tailgating games and shopping for free promotional giveaways from neighboring tents.

In total, the event drew approximately 15,000 people from the 164 Kansas City area companies entered in the competition.

For the next two months, P1 Group will compete against 19 other companies in its division in events such as dodgeball, softball, volleyball, bowling, track, swimming, darts, disc golf, tug-of-war, golf, soccer, flag football, triathlon and horseshoes.

In addition to providing fun extracurricular opportunities outside the office, P1 Group’s participation will also help benefit Kansas City Metro Special Olympics.
