MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State University College of Engineering recently honored Chris Champagne of P1 Group, Inc., with the Professional Progress Award. The award recognizes professional career accomplishments of engineering graduates during their first 20 years after graduation.
Chris is Operations Manager for the Commercial Division at P1 and is a 1993 graduate of K-State in mechanical engineering. He joined P1 Group upon graduation and has worked for the past 20+ years helping grow the company. He began as an estimator and advanced through the ranks to project manager, and was recently promoted to operations manager.
As operations manager, Chris oversees the project management staff, he manages the sheet metal fabrication process and he evaluates the mechanical and plumbing estimates before they are submitted to clients.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Kansas and is LEED certified. He is active in the Kansas City chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association and the Design-Build Institute of America. He has completed courses in project management through the Mechanical Contractors Association’s Institute for Project Management and has pursued leadership training through the Advanced Leadership Institute at the Babson School of Executive Education.
