P1 Group wins project at Fort Leavenworth, seeks LEED certification

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – P1 Group, Inc. is proud to announce it has won a HVAC and plumbing design-build project for Fort Leavenworth Building 465. The project team plans to register this project with a certification goal of LEED Silver.

Originally built in 1930, Building 465 belongs to the National Landmark Historic District (NHLD). P1 Group will renovate the entire four-story, 36,000-square-foot building to provide technology classrooms and support spaces for the civilian education system.

Because of the building’s historic nature, P1 will carefully plan its mechanical and plumbing designs around the main corridors so as to maintain original architectural elements.

The project is scheduled to be completed in April 2011.

Scope of Work

  • Install chilled water system
  • Install new air cooled chillers, air handling units, boilers, computer room units
  • Install new plumbing systems
  • Temperature controls
  • Commissioning

 Prior to these upcoming renovations, Building 465 has served as a medical and dental clinic.
