P1 Group wins mechanical project at Payless ShoeSource data center

TOPEKA, Kan. – P1 Group, Inc. is proud to announce it has won a mechanical project at Payless ShoeSource’s data center at the company’s world headquarters in Topeka, Kan. P1 will replace aging cooling towers and tower pumps that supply tower water for the data center. This project is a capital project that P1 helped Payless design-build based on long-term upgrades for the facility.

This project is scheduled to be completed in late February 2010.

Scope of Work

  • Replace 2 cooling towers and tower pumps while insuring that the data center stays online

Payless ShoeSource is a discount footwear retailer that was founded in Topeka, Kan. in 1956. Its parent company is Collective Brands, Inc., which is the largest non-athletic footwear company in the Western Hemisphere.
