P1 Group wins mechanical and plumbing incubator project on KU’s West Campus

LAWRENCE, Kan. – P1 Group, Inc. is proud to announce it has won the mechanical and plumbing work on the Lawrence-Douglas County Bioscience Authority (LDCBA) Incubator Facility located on the University of Kansas’ West Campus. The incubator will be a 21,440-square-foot multi-tenant facility, expandable to 40,000 square feet.

The incubator will primarily focus on serving the needs of companies in the areas of human health, drug discovery, drug development, medical devices, bioinformatics, bio-energy and biomaterials. Because it is a lab setting, P1 Group will have to overcome the challenge of adhering to strict pressurization requirements.

This project is scheduled to be completed by June 2010. 

Scope of Work

  • (2) 93.9% efficiency gas boilers
  • (2) air handling units
  • Temperature controls
  • Domestic and laboratory plumbing
  • Laboratory fume hood and space pressurization system

The LDCBA is an organization in Lawrence, KS that has a goal of leading the community to develop a thriving life sciences industry to strengthen and diversify the local economy. Its partners include the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, the University of Kansas and the Lawrence Regional Technology Center.
