One of the benefits to having a large fabrication shop is its wide range of capabilities. When deciding how to best install the heat exchangers, system pumps, strainers, supply and return systems at the new Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) facility in St. Joseph, Mo., P1 Group looked inward for a way to deliver a better product without increasing cost to the customer.
Instead of purchasing generic skids from an outside source, P1 Group used its own resources to fabricate customized skids built exactly to ideal specifications. In doing so, P1 was able to not only offer a better-fitting product, but it also streamlined the process and saved time. Once the skids were built, P1 was able to preassemble the components in-house, allowing for a simple plug-and-play operation at the end destination.
Below are a couple photos to further illustrate these benefits.
In-house assembly. P1 Group built and assembled everything in the convenience of the company’s 35,000-square-foot fabrication shop, making it ready to go before even getting to the jobsite.
A perfect fit. By P1 Group designing and building the skids itself, P1 was able to correctly size every detail to work seamlessly with the owner’s needs.
