LAWRENCE, Kan. – P1 Group recently wrapped up the holidays by raffling off two decorative Christmas trees won by the company during the Lawrence Festival of Trees. All proceeds benefit The Shelter of Lawrence.
P1 Group has participated in the Festival of Trees for more than 20 years and has been a sponsor the past seven years. Held downtown at Liberty Hall, the annual festival showcases nearly 60 trees decorated by local businesses, community organizations and other volunteers. Following a public viewing, the trees are held for auction in early December, which serves as the primary fund-raising event for The Shelter.
After successful bids on two of the trees, P1 displayed the works of art in the welcome area of its Lawrence office for two months. Reluctant to see the trees go, P1 decided to raffle off the trees in effort to recycle and raise additional money for the shelter.
Mashayla Mason-Hibler won the wooden tree and Chad Mosley won the ribbon tree.
“I can tell they put a lot of effort into making this tree,” Mosley said. “I didn’t have a tree to put up this year, so I’m really excited to have some Christmas decorations for next year.”
The Shelter helps improve the lives of children and families by providing foster care programs, emergency/temporary shelter, intake programs, and offender services for juveniles.
