Mechanical construction set to start for Westar’s Jeffrey Energy Center

ST. MARY’S, Kan. – P1 Group was awarded the mechanical work for the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system for Unit 1 at Westar’s 800 MW, coal fired Jeffery Energy Center.

P1 is set to start this project in September 2013 and expects to complete it by November 2014.

Scope of Work

  • All SCR pipe, valves, fittings and supports
  • All ammonia system pipe, valves, fittings, instruments and pipe supports
  • Equipment setting of (3) new ammonia tanks and pump skids
  • Lube Oil Skids and associated piping and supports
  • Fin Fan Coolers and associated piping and supports
  • ID Fan Seal Air Skids
  • Compressed Air Equipment and associated piping and supports
  • The P1 pipe fabrication facility will fabricate all pipe spools and supports
  • Furnish and install (3) Air Handling Units
  • Furnish and install (3) Exhaust Fans
  • Provide ductwork, insulation, duct lagging, grilles and registers
