Summary
P1 Group’s work on the Biosecurity Research Institute required some unusual features because of containment concerns. Sectors of the building were classified as BSL-3AG areas. Accordingly, these areas required air-tight containment. To achieve this, P1 Group installed multiple systems so each area could operate independently. Additionally, technicians sealed the conduit with epoxy so no air could pass through. P1 Group also made all the wiring redundant so there would be a back-up system in case of a failure in the original wiring. This reduced the need for repairs in the future, which could risk the integrity of the contained areas.
