The University of Kansas chose P1 Group to help improve the overall energy efficiency on campus . P1’s scope of work included replacing steam traps and electrical controls throughout campus, installing air monitoring systems, and repairing and replacing insulation on existing steam piping. In addition, P1 modified the combustion air system for a boiler, replaced boiler control systems and replaced the deaerator in the physical plant to improve efficiency. Malott Hall and Haworth Hall also received many significant upgrades, as P1 replaced the air handling units (AHU’s) and converted the lab exhaust system to variable air volume with demand control.
