Summary
The Western Missouri Correctional Center project involved installing new PLC based computer controlled security electronics in 17 buildings, as well as installing a new fire alarm system and intercom system. Each of the 17 buildings are tied together using a redundant, self-healing fiber optics system to allow seamless security integration, fire alarm monitoring, and VoIP intercom communications. The 10 housing units were completed on a rigorous 25-day cycle. One challenge overcome was that 100% tool control was a necessity; P1 Group was required to know the location of each tool brought in and out. In addition, maintaining the strict security level required careful planning and execution of our work.
