Cleveland Chiropractic College Improves Mechanical System with Performance Solutions

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – P1 Group’s Performance Solution Division was selected by Cleveland Chiropractic College to design and install an energy efficient mechanical system that will achieve significant reductions in energy consumption and operational costs as well as provide for the latest technologies.

P1 Group began the master planning phase in early 2011 and plans to finish the construction phase by early 2013.

Scope of Work

Analyze: Master Planning of mechanical system evaluation. In this phase, budgets were established and the work was prioritized. An engineered energy study for best practices based on life cycle cost, constructability and sustainability was performed.

Design: The engineered design required the conversion of the chilled and hot water hydronic systems to a vari-prime hydronic pumping system.

Execute:  The following work will be performed:

Central Chiller Plant
-Frictionless Compressor Chillers (McQuay)
-New Cooling Tower
-All New Pumps
-Controls

Boiler Plant
-Multiple high efficient condensing hot water boilers
-Pumps
-Controls

Sustain: All of the new systems will be covered under a full-coverage service agreement.

Congratulations to the following associates who were integral in securing this work for P1 Group:

    • Mike Belcher, President
    • Rusty Roderick, Vice President
    • Phil Nehring, Executive Vice President
    • Stuart Sherrow, Vice President
    • Tony Whited, Vice President
    • Ken Beebe, Consultant.

Casey Rohaus, project manager, will oversee this project

In 2001, P1 Group performed similar work on Cleveland Chiropractic’s old facility. A decade later, they contacted P1 to improve efficiency and reduce cost on their new facility located at 108th and Lowell in Overland Park, KS.
